Hosting horse racing’s most prestigious night, the Eclipse Awards, and doing so virtually, is a task that NBC Sports Kenny Rice meets head on.

Just as he has everything else since his career began in the early 1980s in Lexington, Kentucky.

Airing tonight at 8pm ET on TVG, Rice is excited for the horse racing industry to celebrate and be celebrated. Yet, as he revealed when he joined me on Block's Corner, his love of sports stretches beyond just the track.

We also discuss basketball (his favorite sport), baseball and a moment in football history that helped shape him, and one that he'll never forget.

My conversation with Kenny Rice

Thanks for reading!

And if there's ever a topic you'd like to get my thoughts on, or a question you have, please don't hesitate to ask or suggest something.

Until next time...

I enjoyed hearing about Kenny Rice’s career. You have an easy going manner that allows your guests to feel like they’re talking to an old friend. Your knowledge about your guest clearly makes moving from one subject to the next an easy transition.

An enjoyable and easy listen!!! Kenny Rice has obviously had a more diverse professional career in sports broadcasting beyond horse racing.Your interview certainly added a lot of meaningful background by filling in his unseen /unknown career history to allow the fans to have a fuller appreciation of the amount of background work and experiences that a broadcaster can draw upon to bring greater understanding and enjoyment to an event for both the casual and devoted viewers/listeners alike. I especially love listening to the podcasts for your ability to help your interviewee shine!
